        On Wed 3rd December 2008 at 2000 on board HY Tyne, Brian and Anne Lowrie will complete the tale of their epic round the world cruise with their yacht Farne, picking up the story at Durban, and bringing us home via the South and North Atlantic oceans.

        RNLI and new Ofcom charges

        LIFEBOAT crews fear being scuppered by crippling new charges for using their radios from Ofcom, the communications regulator. The RNLI could see the price of using its VHF emergency frequencies rise to £250,000 under plans to charge the full commercial rate.
