( 3.1 / 18 )I'm sure there are a few members out there who would like to do some small jobs around the club ship and its environs,but don't know what needs doing ,who to offer help to or may not have thought about volunteering.That there are some who have a pride in the club but not sure how you can get involved.
jobs needing attention;
tiling out the toilets in the boatyard
painting the bench at the entrance way
a bit of gardening,pulling weeds at the entrance way
painting the foredeck before winter
servicing the trolleys
refendering the pontoons,replacing the loose bits.
litter pick in the boat yard
to name but a few
Its because of volunteers we can keep the cost of membership down.
If you feel you can offer any assistance to the any of the above please contact;
Hugh Jackson 0191-2528460
Peter Gay 0191-2527725

( 2.9 / 29 )Many thanks to all friends and members that have been in touch since my
recent near fatal accident.
The levels of support to both myself and Lynda during this horror event
have reinforced the levels of friendship and support experienced within the
RNYC and its committee and membership.
Special mentions must go to Dave Coussons who not only supported
Lynda from the day of the accident but also became surrogate dad to my
two dogss Jack & Alfie coming to the house every night to feed and walk
the hounds while Lynda was at my bedside at Teeside James Cook
Hospital. Dave has also been instrumental in helping my recovery by
forcing me out for walks to the pontoons and the local pub..
Many thanks to Bob Skelton Peter Nicholson and Ray & Susan Lilburn
who gave up their time to transport Lynda to my bedside. I consider myself
very fortunate to be alive seeing what was left of my car having been driven
over by a 40ton truck & trailer. All I can say is that the next life must not
have been ready to receive me yet..
I am looking forward to returning to the club as my recovery progresses
and to resuming both sailing and social activities asap.
In closing once again on behalf of myself and Lynda sincere thanks to
everyone .
See you all soon
Tony Flisher
