RNYC Points Series Double Race Days

Sailing Committee have had a long discussion about what the format of our RNYC Points Series Double Race Days. The idea was that these events really do take up the whole day, and that may be a contributing factor in low turnouts of boats and crews.

The three considered options are:
1 - Maintain the status quo: a morning race, everybody comes back into the club for lunch, then heads back out into the bay for another race in the afternoon.
2 - Start at 10:30 (or even 10:00) and run two races back-to-back then head back to the bar where you can relax and not worry about another race.
3 - Start in the afternoon, so you can use the bar beforehand and run two races back-to-back.

There are pros and cons to each option, so we are consulting the members to see what the feeling is!

You can submit your response online through a simple web survey:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KQWLGGX

Or email your response to me at sailing@rnyc.org.uk

Responses by 4th February please!

Thanks

Carl & Sailing Comittee

We want to put on a series of fun events for cruisers and racers during early June 2012.

We need volunteers to help us develop ideas and set everything in motion as time is moving on quickly. Ideally this will be similar to East Coast Sailing week last year but with fun in mind for all. This could include treasure hunts, cruiser racing over a few miles , winner takes all- dinghy sailing for those who haven't tried sailing before, fun trips up the river, food and music.

If you would like to help us organise this or have a great idea
to help make it a success, please contact Mike Wade
