Blyth powerstation chimneys toppled

Blyth's landmark powerstation chimneys were demolished with high explosive at 12.00 on Sunday 7th December 2003. The four 500' chimneys were visible for many miles, and at times were the first proof for home-coming yachts their navigation across the North Sea had been successful.
