ECSW 2005 |
East Coast Week Regatta 24 - 29 July 2005ECSW 2005 is over, and we are all looking forward to 2006 at the Royal Tay Yacht Club. The weather wasn't as kind as it might have been, and two days' racing, Sunday and Friday, were lost, in the first case due to the conditions on the bar at Amble and in the second due to fog. A great time was had by all. Thanks from all competitors to Dick Bailey and the Race Office Team, also to Nick and Katie Spurr for the big blue Amble 'arena', NEST for the tent at Blyth, and especially the volunteers from RNYC who took on catering at Blyth at the eleventh hour. The series results for 2005 have been posted, and the prize winners gathered together at the final prize giving are pictured below. The prize for the outstanding boat of the series went to Barcarolle II from Royal Tay YC. The trophy is a new one, presented to RNYC by Blyth Harbour Commission. The Harbour Master, Captain Mike Hailey is seen handing the trophy to Ron Lorimer of Royal Tay YC.
