Royal Northumberland Yacht Club is based in Blyth South Harbour in the North East of England. We run a regular programme of races of varying styles on week nights as well as full weekend events. We have a busy calendar of social events, including lively pontoon parties, and occasional educational talks lead by members of the club and external speakers. We are an RYA Training Centre running a full range of theory and practical courses and we also run first aid courses from time to time. Our club house is the HY Tyne III, a Trinity House Light Vessel (LV50) built in 1879.

All summer series racers we are seeing 30-40kt gusts here now and forecast 40kt by 2000hrs we can not lay the marks in this so I’m cancelling the official summer race series race now avoiding unnecessary travel

The forecast is no better but there is a distinct appetite from many to sail. We will leave the race in the calander for tomorrow and see how the conditions develop. The final decision being made tomorrow evening. We may run the event around the fixed marks available at skippers

All members please be aware we are now satisfied that the YTC handicap system gives us closer racing and is governed by the RYA. So we will, from the end of this year be completing all trophy races under the YTC handicaps, therefore if you are intending to race in
